How to Schedule WhatsApp Messages on PC, Mac or WhatsApp Web
WhatsApp Web can't schedule messages yet. Three ways to schedule from a PC, Mac or laptop, which ones still send with the lid closed, and what they cost.

As of October 2026, WhatsApp Web can't schedule a message, and WhatsApp hasn't confirmed scheduling for its Windows or Mac app. If you work from a computer, you have three practical choices: a Chrome extension such as Blueticks, which adds scheduling inside WhatsApp Web; Chatmaid Web, a browser dashboard that sends from Chatmaid's cloud; or a phone app such as Chatmaid Schedule, which sends from the cloud while you keep chatting on your computer. Which one fits depends on two things: whether your computer stays on, and whether you write to one person at a time or to a whole list.
Where WhatsApp's own feature stands (October 2026). WhatsApp has started testing scheduled messages with a limited group of beta testers: on Android since October 12 and on iPhone (TestFlight) since October 22, according to WABetaInfo (Android, iPhone). It is not in the regular app and has no release date. It is not on WhatsApp Web, and WhatsApp has not confirmed it for the Windows or Mac app. In the beta you can schedule up to two weeks ahead, with one photo or video per message and no recurring messages. The options below work from a computer today: Blueticks and Chatmaid Schedule can repeat messages, both Chatmaid options can be set more than two weeks ahead, and the cloud options keep sending with your laptop closed. Is there a schedule button in WhatsApp Web or the desktop app?
No, not for most people. When you type in WhatsApp Web (web.whatsapp.com), the send button sends right away. WhatsApp Web has no "send later" option.
For the desktop app, The Star reported on October 15 that people enrolled in the Android beta see a clock icon next to the send button once they type a message. WhatsApp hasn't confirmed this. If you don't see a clock next to send, you don't have it.
What are your options for scheduling from a computer?
| Option | Where you schedule | Sends with your computer off | Repeating messages | Price as of October 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| WhatsApp scheduled messages (beta) | Android and iPhone beta apps | Yes, even with your phone offline | No | Free |
| Blueticks Free | Inside WhatsApp Web in Chrome | No, WhatsApp Web must stay open | Not stated | Free, up to 3 scheduled messages at a time |
| Blueticks Basic or Standard | Inside WhatsApp Web in Chrome | No, WhatsApp Web must stay open | Yes | $9 or $25 per user per month ($7 or $20 billed yearly) |
| Blueticks Pro | Blueticks web app, or WhatsApp Web in Chrome | Yes, cloud sending | Yes | $50 per user per month ($45 billed yearly) |
| Chatmaid Web | Browser dashboard | Yes, cloud sending | No (one-time sends; campaigns spread one list over the days you choose) | $12.99 per month after a 7-day trial |
| Chatmaid Schedule | iPhone or Android app | Yes, cloud sending | Daily, weekly, monthly | $2.79 per month after a 7-day trial |
We make Chatmaid Web and Chatmaid Schedule, so weigh that; every Blueticks fact here comes from its own site. Prices come from each product's pricing page in October 2026. Check them again before you buy, since plans change. Chatmaid Web teams of 2 to 10 pay $10.99 per user per month. Chatmaid's current plans are on the pricing page.
Does it work on a Windows PC, Mac or laptop?
It depends on the option:
- Browser extensions run in WhatsApp Web inside the browser (Chrome, in Blueticks' case). They do not run inside the WhatsApp desktop app you install on Windows or Mac. If you normally use the desktop app, you would switch to WhatsApp Web in Chrome for scheduling.
- Chatmaid Web runs in the browser, so it works on a MacBook, a Windows PC or any laptop with a current browser. Nothing needs to be installed on the computer, and once a send is scheduled the computer can go to sleep.
- Chatmaid Schedule does not depend on your computer at all, since you schedule on the phone. You can keep using the WhatsApp desktop app or WhatsApp Web for live chats.
How do you schedule with a browser extension like Blueticks?
Blueticks is a Chrome extension that adds a message planner to WhatsApp Web. According to its site, you can schedule one-time or recurring messages and import a list from Excel or CSV for personalized campaigns. Its pricing page lists unlimited scheduled messages on paid plans. It also has its own web app with a Message Planner calendar, and on Pro you don't need the extension at all (per its FAQ).
To schedule inside WhatsApp Web, following Blueticks' scheduler guide:
- Install Blueticks from the Chrome Web Store.
- Open web.whatsapp.com in Chrome and open the chat.
- Click the clock icon next to the message box (its tooltip reads "Schedule a message").
- Write the message and pick the date and time. To repeat it, click "Set recurrence" and choose every so many minutes, hours, days, weeks, months or years, ending on a date or after a number of sends.
- Click "Schedule Send". The message shows as a card in the chat and in the Message Planner calendar, where you can edit it.
The catch: on Free, Basic and Standard, the computer has to stay on with WhatsApp Web open until the message goes out.
Blueticks' own FAQ explains why: on those plans the extension runs in your browser through WhatsApp Web, so closing the WhatsApp Web tab or shutting down the computer stops it. A laptop that is asleep in a bag at 6 p.m. will not send the 8 a.m. reminder. The Pro plan adds cloud sending that works with the computer off, at a higher price.
Pros
- Scheduling sits inside the WhatsApp Web window you already use.
- Repeats every so many minutes, hours, days, weeks, months or even years, with an end date or a set number of sends.
- Can cancel a scheduled message automatically if the person writes to you first.
- Campaigns from an Excel or CSV list.
- A free plan with no time limit that holds up to 3 scheduled messages at a time and sends only while WhatsApp Web is open (per Blueticks), and a 7-day Pro trial with no credit card.
Cons
- Its site only offers a Chrome install.
- On Basic, campaigns carry "Powered by Blueticks" branding. Removing it takes Standard or Pro.
- On Free, Basic and Standard, your computer and the WhatsApp Web tab must stay open for every scheduled send.
- Sending with the computer off needs Pro, the top plan, and every plan is priced per user.
How do you schedule from the browser with Chatmaid Web?
Chatmaid Web is a browser dashboard for sending to lists: customers, parents at a school, club members, clients. You set things up in a browser tab, and Chatmaid's cloud sends the messages from your own WhatsApp number.
- Start the free trial on the Chatmaid Web page. No credit card is needed.
- Link your WhatsApp: on your phone, open Linked Devices in WhatsApp (the Settings tab on iPhone, or the three-dot menu on Android), tap Link a Device and scan the QR code that Chatmaid shows. WhatsApp allows four linked devices besides your phone; if all four are in use, remove one under Linked Devices first.
- Upload your contacts from a CSV or Excel file, or add them by hand.
- Write the message. Variables such as the contact's name fill in for each recipient, and a live preview shows formatting and attachments the way the contact will see them.
- Choose to send now or schedule a date and time. For a long list, a campaign can spread the sends over the days and hours you pick.
Once a send is scheduled, delivery runs from Chatmaid's cloud, not from your browser, so you can close the tab and shut the laptop. Your phone can be off too. Sends are paced instead of fired all at once, and each recipient shows up in the history as sent or failed, with a one-click retry for failures. You can attach images, videos, PDFs and audio.
For example, a school office uploads a CSV of parents, writes a note that school closes early on Monday, puts the name variable in the greeting, and schedules it for Friday at 3:30 p.m. Each parent gets the message with their own name, from the school's number.
Pros
- Your computer and phone can both be off at send time.
- Built for lists, with personalization and delivery status for every contact.
- Campaigns that pace a large list over the days and time slots you choose.
Cons
- It is a separate dashboard, not a button inside WhatsApp Web.
- It does not repeat messages. To repeat a message to a few people or a WhatsApp group, Chatmaid Schedule does daily, weekly or monthly, but it does not import a spreadsheet.
- The 7-day trial is capped at 30 messages a day.
- WhatsApp must stay linked. If you remove Chatmaid from Linked Devices, scheduled messages wait until you reconnect, and messages whose time passed while you were disconnected may not go out. Chatmaid also notes a delay of up to two minutes in some cases.
How do you schedule from your phone and keep chatting on your computer?
Many people who live in WhatsApp Web only need a handful of timed messages: a follow-up on Thursday, a payment reminder on the 1st, a team nudge every Monday. For that, the simplest setup is to schedule on your phone with Chatmaid Schedule and keep doing your live chats on the computer. You can create your account in the browser, but the scheduling itself happens in the iPhone or Android app.
- Install Chatmaid Schedule from the App Store or Google Play.
- Link your WhatsApp. The app shows a code. In WhatsApp, open Linked Devices (the Settings tab on iPhone, or the three-dot menu on Android), tap Link a Device, choose "Link with phone number instead," and enter the code. (The four-device limit above applies here too.) If you are sitting at a computer, the connection screen also gives you a web link where you confirm your number and scan a QR code with WhatsApp, the same way you link WhatsApp Web.
- Pick recipients from your contacts, your WhatsApp groups, or the Unsaved tab for a number you have not saved.
- Write the message. You can use bold, italic and strikethrough, and attach photos, videos, documents or a voice note recorded in the app.
- Choose one-time or recurring (daily, weekly or monthly), set the date and time, and confirm.
Chatmaid's cloud sends the message at that time from your own number, even if your phone is off, out of battery or offline. Your computer plays no part in it. Scheduled, completed and failed messages are listed in Message History, where you can open a scheduled message and edit it.
For a walkthrough on your phone, see the guides for iPhone and Android.
Pros
- The lowest-priced paid option in this guide, with a 7-day trial that includes every feature and needs no credit card.
- Works with groups and unsaved numbers, and supports voice notes.
- Neither your phone nor your computer has to be on at send time.
Cons
- You schedule on your phone, not at the keyboard.
- It is built for messages to people and groups you pick, not for uploading a spreadsheet. That is what Chatmaid Web is for.
Which option fits you?
- You send a few reminders and your computer is on all day at a desk: Blueticks' free plan (3 messages waiting at a time) or its lower paid plans can be enough, as long as WhatsApp Web stays open.
- Your laptop closes, sleeps or travels with you: pick a cloud option. That means Chatmaid Schedule, Chatmaid Web or Blueticks Pro.
- You write to a list and want each message personalized: Chatmaid Web.
- You want timed and repeating messages to individuals and groups at the lowest price: Chatmaid Schedule. For ideas, see how to schedule recurring WhatsApp messages.
- You need a one-off message within the next two weeks and WhatsApp's beta has reached you (Android or iPhone): the built-in feature may be enough. Press and hold send to check.

How do you make sure a scheduled message actually sends?
- Test first, the way you will really use it. Schedule a short message to a colleague or friend 10 to 15 minutes ahead (WhatsApp's beta needs at least 10 minutes), then close the laptop (with a cloud option) or leave the computer as you normally would, and confirm it arrives.
- Keep the link alive. Do not remove the scheduler from Linked Devices in WhatsApp. If you do, link it again before the next send is due. Also open WhatsApp on your phone at least once every 14 days: the WhatsApp Help Center says you need to log in on your primary phone every 14 days to keep linked devices connected.
- Keep the browser awake on local plans. With an extension that runs in your browser, turn off sleep while messages are queued and leave the WhatsApp Web tab open. If Chrome's Memory Saver is on, add web.whatsapp.com under Settings > Performance > Always keep these sites active. On most laptops, closing the lid puts the computer to sleep by default (on a Mac, unless it is plugged in and connected to an external display), so leave it open and plugged in until the last queued message goes out.
- Check the history after the first send. Chatmaid Schedule's Message History and Chatmaid Web's history show which messages went out and which failed, and Chatmaid Web adds a one-click retry for failures.
- Only message people who expect to hear from you. A ban is very unlikely with normal use. Restrictions happen when an account behaves like spam, such as sending unsolicited bulk messages to people who do not have your number saved.

Frequently asked questions
Can I schedule a WhatsApp message on WhatsApp Web without an extension?
Not inside WhatsApp Web itself as of October 2026. Without an extension, you can use a separate cloud tool such as Chatmaid Web in another browser tab, or schedule from your phone with Chatmaid Schedule. Both send from your own number.
Can I schedule WhatsApp messages on a Mac or MacBook?
Not in WhatsApp Web, and WhatsApp hasn't confirmed it for the Mac app, as of October 2026. On a Mac you can install Blueticks in Chrome (the Mac must stay awake with WhatsApp Web open unless you pay for Pro), use Chatmaid Web in any current browser, or schedule on your phone with Chatmaid Schedule while you keep chatting on the Mac.
Does my computer have to stay on for scheduled messages to send?
With Blueticks Free, Basic or Standard, yes, and WhatsApp Web must stay open. With Blueticks Pro, Chatmaid Web and Chatmaid Schedule, no: the messages are sent from the cloud. With Chatmaid, your phone can also be off or without internet at send time, as long as WhatsApp stays linked.
Will the recipient see that the message was scheduled?
No, with one exception: campaign messages sent on Blueticks Basic carry "Powered by Blueticks" branding. Otherwise the message arrives as a normal message from your own number. Chatmaid sends through a linked device, the same way WhatsApp Web does, so nothing is spoofed.
Can I schedule messages to numbers I have not saved?
In Chatmaid Schedule, yes: use the Unsaved tab. In Chatmaid Web, yes: any number you upload or type in works, saved or not. In Blueticks, its FAQ says you can type a phone number as the recipient instead of picking a contact. More in how to schedule WhatsApp messages to unsaved contacts.
Is there a free way to schedule WhatsApp messages from a computer?
Partly. Blueticks' free plan holds up to 3 scheduled messages at a time and sends only while WhatsApp Web is open; paid plans start at $7 per user per month billed yearly. Chatmaid Web has a 7-day trial capped at 30 messages a day, and Chatmaid Schedule a 7-day trial with every feature; neither needs a card. WhatsApp's own feature is free but, as of October 2026, only in some beta apps.
